Who will cry for Onion?

Long, long ago, in a little green garden, all the vegetables were good friends.

Tomato, Potato, Beetroot, Brinjal, and Onion — they lived happily together, playing under the sunshine and drinking the morning dew.

One day, the cook came to the garden with a big basket.
She smiled and said, “Today I’ll make a tasty vegetable curry!”

First, she picked up Tomato.
Slice! Slice! went the knife.
All the other vegetables began to cry.
“Oh, poor Tomato! She was so soft and sweet!” said Potato.
“Why did it have to be her?” sobbed Brinjal.

Next came Beetroot’s turn.
Slice! Slice!
“Oh no! Beetroot was so kind and bright!” they cried again.
Their tears rolled down their skins.

Then came Potato, and again everyone cried.
After that, Brinjal was cut, and more tears flowed.

Finally, it was Onion’s turn.
She looked around and realized something — there was no one left to cry for her!
All her friends were gone into the curry pot.

The Old Man and His Wisdom

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a boy named Abhiram. His grandfather came to visit for a week, and Abhiram was very happy.

Every day, Abhiram went to school by public bus. One morning, he asked,
“Thatha (Grandpa), will you come with me? I want to show you my school!”
His grandfather agreed with a smile.

The Journey - steps of struggle & the wings of grace

Once upon a time, in a quiet little village, there lived a boy named Abhiram. After school, he often played with his friends in the evening. One day, before running off, his mother gave him two ripe bananas. Abhiram tucked them carefully into his pocket.

Near his house stood a small mountain, on top of which rested a mysterious old temple of Lord Shiva. A steep flight of stone steps led to it, but climbing them was said to be very difficult.

That evening, Abhiram challenged his friends:
“Today, I will climb all the way to the temple!”

With excitement, he began his climb. At first, he moved quickly, but soon, as he reached one-fourth of the way, his legs began to ache. The sun was setting, shadows stretched across the mountain, and his body grew heavy with tiredness.

The Old Couple in the Park

One late evening, after a long and exhausting day at the office, a young man named Abhiram sat alone on a wooden bench in the city park. His shoulders drooped under the weight of unkind words from his manager, missed deadlines, and the silent battles of corporate life. He stared at the ground, his mind drowning in frustration and doubt.

An elderly couple, slowly making their evening rounds, noticed the distress etched on his face. They exchanged a gentle glance and walked toward him. Without intruding, they sat quietly beside him, their calm presence soothing like the stillness after a storm.

Demonetization - How it affected me

It was during the initial days of Demonetization.  It was something new which we never heard of. I remember people were standing in long queues before the ATMs. I don’t know how much it benefited the nation in bringing out the black money, but I can say the common public had suffered a lot. Adding to this, most ATMs were vending only 2000 rupee notes and getting a change for 2k was a Herculean task.

Mysore Diaries

Day1:
1. Venugopala Swamy Temple:
We first visited the Venugopala swamy temple at Hosa Kannambadi, Mandya dist. From the first look, I understood that the temple design is based on the typical Hoysala architecture. But the walls and stones looked very neatly polished. I could not see the old ancient look on the temple. It looked like a renovated temple.
