The Jain Tirthankara Sculptures in Salar Jung Museum

Jainism traditionally known as the Jina śāsana or Jain dharma, is a South Asian religion.

The word "Jain" derives from the Sanskrit word jina (conqueror). A human being who has conquered all inner passions like attachment, desire, anger, pride, greed, etc. and therefore, possesses pure infinite knowledge (Kevala Jnana) is called Jina. Replicas of different Vahanas of Lord Venkatesa from TTD Museum


There are different vahanas used in the Tirumala temple for the use of the lord. Some of them are very old and ancient and some of them quite modern. Even the antique ones have been so repaired and renovated through the ages that their original features could not be differentiated.
