The Old Man and His Wisdom

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a boy named Abhiram. His grandfather came to visit for a week, and Abhiram was very happy.

Every day, Abhiram went to school by public bus. One morning, he asked,
“Thatha (Grandpa), will you come with me? I want to show you my school!”
His grandfather agreed with a smile.

Abhiram with his grand father

On the bus, Abhiram showed his grandfather his school friends. Among them were two boys, Ramesh and Mahesh, who were dwarfs. Sadly, another classmate named Yashwant always bullied them. He teased them, laughed at them, and made fun of their height. Every time this happened, Abhiram felt bad.

“Thatha,” Abhiram whispered, “I don’t like how Yashwant troubles them. Can you please teach him a lesson?”
His grandfather just nodded quietly.

The next day, when the bus stopped, Yashwant got down as usual. Ramesh and Mahesh were also walking along the road. Yashwant started teasing them again. Just then, Abhiram’s grandfather, who was still on the bus, dropped a banana peel on the road.

Yashwant stepped on it, slipped, and fell flat on the ground! The other children burst into laughter. But Ramesh and Mahesh did something unexpected. Instead of laughing, they ran to Yashwant, helped him up, and said softly,
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”

Yashwant was shocked. “Why didn’t you laugh at me like the others? I always trouble you.”

Ramesh and Mahesh looked at him kindly and said,
“Because we know the pain of being hurt every day. We could feel your pain, so we wanted to help you, not laugh at you.”

Yashwant was helped by Ramesh & Mahesh

Yashwant stood quietly, ashamed of his behavior. That day, he understood how unkind he had been. From then on, he stopped bullying them and became their friend.

As they walked back home, Abhiram looked up at his grandfather and said with gratitude,
“Thank you, Thatha. You didn’t just teach Yashwant a lesson—you taught me too. Kindness is stronger than laughter, and helping others is the biggest lesson of all.”

His grandfather smiled and patted his head.

Moral: True strength lies in kindness. Only those who have felt pain can truly understand the pain of others.
